"And all at once, summer collapsed into fall." – Oscar Wilde
from 1947 to present
Situated on the hills of Highland Park, a 77-year-old California bungalow restores its character yet elevates the soul. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this property embraces the neighboring lifestyle of York Blvd and Figueroa Street. An open floorplan expands from interior to exterior, making the home a forever place to stay. Beautiful nature surrounds the house, while a curated landscape transitions the rawness into creativity. The backyard is perfect for an entertainer, featuring large seating areas and even the next-door neighbor's marvelous orange tree. By introducing forest green and brick red into the design, summer meets fall just as it's meant to be.

The Living Kitchen

Knocking down the original wall between the living room and the kitchen, this first impression finally becomes less dull and more open-minded. The designer believes that a warm-toned kitchen will not only make you more interested in cooking but also lighten the atmosphere. Since nothing complements red like black, the cabinet knobs and gas range are in black stainless steel. This room functions as the main gathering space for family and friends. To the left side is the newly constructed master room, and to its right side remains the original two bedrooms and one bath in their most glorious state since 1947.

Old but New
This part of the house has been through the history of it all. Keeping the structure intact, the restored larger bedroom receives the earliest sunshine and birds' songs. Continuous flooring and light creamy paint throughout the home make you feel cozy in an instant. A full bathroom is right by the corner highlighting some more brick red and beige. Cle tiles are used here to bring out the best quality of color. In the smaller bedroom, old failing carpentry is replaced by a gracefully arched closet space, overseeing another matching arch by the bathroom. Clothes and linens go in, but fresh looks and smells come out.

Not Just a Bed

Building from the ground up is not hauntingly hard if the house already has great bones. The master bedroom should never be just a bed. It is a way of living if you love a room of your own. Outside of the window, the tree of trees ages somewhat hundreds of years. A scent of that green is brought into the master bathroom with double sinks. Showering can be fun looking out at the mature California pepper tree and Japanese maple. An equally spacious walk-in closet waits for the owner's outlook of the day. Taking a step out of the French door, breakfast can be served and afternoon shades are nonetheless delicious.

Introducing:
The Outdoor
Because we have so much to offer.

One of the best qualities of this parcel is the open space. You are not ever confined to an area and that makes sense when the community is so welcoming. The garage should be a creative studio since you can park on the driveway and anywhere around the property. Seating areas can be placed all around the house for relaxation. Landscaping looks and feels better in person. There is a surprise bonus gardening area as well, just by the garage.
